Battle of the Gumbo Gladiators

2015 Battle of the Gumbo Gladiators benefits the Volunteers for Youth Justice. Proceeds fund CASA, court and youth programs. The cook-off raised $20,100 last year, up from $18,800 in 2013. This year's goal is $30,000. Those who purchase samples can vote for people's choice awards. Winners will be announced at 3:30 p.m. followed by an after party with food, drinks, music and vendors.


When: 11 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. March 21, 2015
            Tasting begins at noon. 
            Downtown Festival Plaza, 101 Crockett St., Shreveport, Louisiana
Cost:    Admission is free. 
           Gumbo samples can be purchased for $1 or $4 for a bowl.
