It all started back in 1982 when The Treasures of Opelousas, a grassroots organization made up of local citizens from Opelousas, Louisiana who were concerned that Zydeco Music and Culture was slowly dying out organized The Original Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Festival (the first and oldest #ZydecoFestival in the World) on a rural farm in Plaisance, Louisiana in 1982!!!
Everyone in the Zydeco Nation should experience the The Original Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Festival at least once. This historical festival is where all Zydeco Music Festivals in the world originate. Your Zydeco Lady will be there to pay tribute, hear and dance to some great Zydeco and Southern Soul music!

Just when you think that it just can't get any better, the Creole Renaissance Festival will make you think twice! Although the Creole Renaissance is one of the younger Zydeco Festivals in the Zydeco Nation, the festival represents a new generation in the Zydeco Nation celebrating Zydeco Music & Creole Culture.
