Funeral Services for Stanley Dural Jr. Set For Monday, October 3, 2016 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Funeral Services for Mr. Stanley "Buckwheat" Dural Jr., the Zydeco Nation's Proudest Creole Man will be held on Monday October 3, 2016 at 11:00am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church located on 905 Surrey St. in Lafayette, Louisiana.  Visitation and Reflection will be held from 8:00am to 11:00am at the church.

Visitation for Mr. Stanley "Buckwheat" Dural Jr. will take place on Sunday, October 2, 2016 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. A Rosary and Meditation Vigil on behalf of Mr. Stanley "Buckwheat" Dural Jr will begin at 6:00pm. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.

Stanley Dural Jr, (Buckwheat Zydeco) was a true and creative innovator of Zydeco Music.  His musical foundation and legacy was directly linked to Clifton Chenier, and Buckwheat Zydeco and his Ils Sont Partis Band were instrumental in the revival of Zydeco Music in the 1980’s.  Like his mentor and teacher, Clifton Chenier, Stanley Dural Jr, (Buckwheat Zydeco) put Zydeco Music and the black Creole Culture of southwest Louisiana and Texas on his back, and proudly brought these cultural treasures to the world.

Stanley Dural Jr, (Buckwheat Zydeco) was a good, kind, and humble man.  He brought joy and inspiration to millions of people, not only through his music, but through his everyday life’s work.  If a tree is judged by the fruit it produces, then Stanley Dural Jr’s, life was a strong tall tree with wide branches, deep roots and produced good fruit that touched the lives of many people all over the world.
