Nick Spitzer, the master of ceremonies and host of public radio's "American Routes," will receive the College of the Arts SPARK Lifetime Achievement at ArTech Fusion, set for March 18, 2016 at the Acadiana Center for the Arts. A professor of anthropology at Tulane, Spitzer has made documentaries and recordings that chronicle Louisiana's African French communities.
Spitzer is the founding director of the Louisiana Folklife Program and a folklorist specializing in Creole music and culture at the Smithsonian Institution and elsewhere.ouisiana Convention and Visitors Bureau at (337) 436-9588, or visit www.visitlakecharles.org.

The Ardoin legacy continues through Lawrence's sons, Chris and his NuStep Band, and Sean, who heads Zydekool and Creole United. Geno Delafose is a Grammy nominee for his 2007 CD, "Le Cowboy Creole."
